The boys nordic team placed seventh overall in states. Despite the lack of snow the boys powered through. Joey Paolillo placed thirteen in the classic race in a 20:05 time and Blake Erhard placed thirty-first in both races. Captain Liam Conlin came in twenty-eigth in the classic race. “I can’t emphasize enough how impressed I was with each athlete and the gains that we made this season despite our lack of practice time on snow,” Scott said. From the Boothbay Registers article by Sue Mello.
The girls Nordic team had a good run at states this year, having the best results since Coach Scott has started up the team. “Summer Chamberlin had an outstanding couple of days as well, placing 31st and 35th in the classic and skate races, respectively. The only two female skiers to turn in better results were Sophia Thayer and Nell Anthony.” Quoted Coach Scott when asked about her turn out to writer of the Boothbay Register Sue Mello. Even though the girls were a relatively new team they came out 11th out of the 14 teams that competed at Black Mountain for states.
